Staff and Operations

STAFFING

At Iddy Biddy Kids we have highly qualified staff and experienced people who are committed to providing the highest quality care for your child. We believe we have a fabulous team that will contribute positively to your child’s total development. Our team consists of a Director, Assistant Director, Reception Staff, Group Leaders, Assistants and Qualified Carers.
Staffing ratios and qualifications in our profession are governed by Statutory Requirements. It is our aim to exceed these requirements and staff are expected to attend professional in-service training and/or workshops for continued development. Iddy Biddy Kids is a family orientated centre that aims to meet the aspirations of both parents and staff. So in order for children to gain the most from their experience at Iddy Biddy Kids, our staff must maintain and uphold high standards.

STORAGE AND ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION

All medication brought to the centre must be handed over to a staff member who will place it in an appropriate cabinet not accessible to children. Please ensure your child’s name is on all medication.
Parents and/or guardians will need to complete and sign a medication permission form to allow staff to only administer prescribed medication in accordance with the directions noted on the form. For more information, please see our medication policy located in our centre foyer.

HEALTH, ILLNESS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES

The centre requires an updated copy of your child’s immunisation details.
Please note that children with infectious diseases or children not well enough to undertake normal routine will not be permitted to attend the centre. Parents will be notified if their child becomes sick and may be asked to collect their child. If unable to contact the child’s parents, the emergency contact numbers will be utilised.

HYGIENE

The centre aims to achieve a high standard of hygiene. Therefore, staff model and encourage children to develop personal hygiene through washing hands after play, toileting, nose blowing and before eating. Parents also need to comply with the relevant health and hygiene policies of the centre.

SAFETY, EMERGENCY & EVACUATION PROCEDURE

Emergency evacuation procedures are displayed on the wall in each room. A drill is regularly called and all staff, children and parents present in the building at the time are required to follow the drill procedures. Please do not enter the building if you hear the alarm sounding.

REST TIME

All bedding for children is provided at Iddy Biddy Kids. Children are encouraged to rest during the day for a period of time depending on their individual needs. Quiet activities will be provided for children who do not rest during the day.

LOST PROPERTY

Please ensure all of your child’s belongings (hats, shoes, bags, clothing) are clearly named to avoid the inconvenience and distress of lost property. We also ask that toys are not brought into the centre as this often causes conflict and contributes to the loss of property.

COMMUNICATION, CONCERNS & FEEDBACK

Communication is vital to maintaining the highest quality of care for your child. At Iddy Biddy Kids, we may communicate with you using a variety of methods including: memos, letters and forms; posters and displays; seasonal newsletters; communication books; interviews and private meetings; telephone as well as emails.
We appreciate any and all feedback from families. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions or share any concerns you may have. Concerns and/or feedback may be expressed informally to your child’s team leader or taken directly to management. Confidential correspondence can be left in the locked fee box.
