About Us
At Iddy Biddy Kids children are encouraged to explore,play,enjoy,learn and develop in safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing environments which are inclusive and reflect, value and respect the diversity of children's backgrounds (SACSA). Children need space, time, resources and support to practice their developing skills and understandings and reflect on their current knowledge (SACSA). Therefore the Iddy Biddy Kids philosophy is underpinned by the following understandings.
- Children's overall development will be enhanced if a partnership is formed with families.
- An inclusive curriculum must be insightful and cater to the needs and abilities of all children while promoting diversity and challenging stereotypes.
- Through close, positive, reciprocal relationships children develop confidence and a positive sense of self (SACSA).
- Through increasing autonomy and sense of agency children develop feelings of self-worth and a positive self-esteem.
- Each child is a unique individual with their own strengths, skills, background, abilities, understandings, beliefs and values.
- Children learn through play and the educator’s role is to add to the richness, purpose and complexity of it (SACSA).
- Through the provision of safe, hygienic, nutritious environments, opportunities for rest and physical activity, role modeling and teaching of appropriate practices, children’s health and well being is enhanced.
- Children develop respect for self, others and their environment through guidance, positive reinforcement and role modeling.
- Programs are founded upon SACSA and the Early Years Learning Framework with recognition to the importance of inclusion, partnerships with families and programming for the whole child as an individual learner.
- Iddy Biddy Kids works as a team to deliver a contemporary, skilled, high quality service for the community.
An enrolment Fee of $25.00 is to be paid prior to starting at Iddy biddy Kids and is non refundable. It will cover the cost of a centre t-shirt and SunSmart hat for your child.
Fee Structure
$72 per day
$335 full time week
$52 per half day; or
$77 casual care
Fees are payable for all days booked, including any absences due to illness, holidays and public holidays. Half fees are available for 2 weeks holiday throughout the financial year.
All fees are payable one week in arrears. Accounts are distributed to families via their child’s pocket located in the centre, and are to be paid weekly.The payment methods available are: Cash, Cheque, Eftpos, Direct Debit and Direct Deposit.
Child Care Benefit is available for those who are eligible. To qualify, families must lodge an application with the Family Assistance Office. They can be contacted on 13 61 50. It will be necessary to quote our provider number:407 269 516A
We understand that leaving your child in care can sometimes be difficult. There is a mixture of emotions that both you and your child are feeling, and as caregivers, we wish to offer our support and understanding. It is our aim to make the transition from home into care as easy and as positive as possible. We endeavor to facilitate a smooth transition process by providing opportunities for you and your child to take part in orientation visits before they start care. Welcome letters will be presented to you upon enrolment to help familiarise you with the room in which your child will be attending, and general information about your child’s routine will be gathered to promote continuity of care.
There is now clear evidence that childhood nutrition has a lasting effect on many aspects of health. Children need fresh, nutritional food and well-balanced meals. The centre will provide healthy and nutritious meals which cover the five food groups, including cereal, fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. We encourage that you provide a piece of fruit each day to share.
Iddy Biddy Kids has successfully completed the Start Right Eat Right training and is recognised as a Start Right Eat Right award centre. The Start Right Eat Right award scheme encourages and recognises long day care centres that provide nutritious and varied food for children. These centres serve food in ways that meet children’s social, cultural and educational needs. To receive the award, centres must meet specific standards of excellence for safe, nutritious and varied foods.
Iddy Biddy Kids has been recognised as a SunSmart centre. We ensure that children are protected from harsh UV rays and have strict policy and procedures in regards to this area. Staff ensure that children wear SunSmart hats and clothing and apply sunscreen which is supplied by the centre before going outside. We ask that parents ensure children have sunscreen applied before coming into care, and that SunSmart clothing is packed as spare clothes in their child’s bag.
